Job Title: Higher Apprentice Design Engineer

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire)

Salary: Starting from £22,500 with annual progression through the scheme duration

• You will be spending the first 6 months in Portsmouth Naval Base’s Skills and Development Centre where you will develop your practical engineering skills.
• You will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours within your engineering discipline whilst gaining valuable experience in design engineering.
• Within the Design Team you will experience placements with the other engineering disciplines to provide a wider perspective and all‑round engineering understanding.

• Level 4 Apprenticeship Certificate (Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard)
• Higher National Certificate in Engineering

• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9‑4/A*‑C that must include Maths & English & a Science/Technical Subject AND 1 of the following:
• 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above. 1 subject must be Maths and 1 subject must be in Engineering or a Science/Technical subject.
• OR an equivalent level 3 vocational qualification (must be a STEM related subject that aligns to the scheme/area you are applying for and worth a minimum of 96 UCAS points).
