• Utilise CAD design and drafting skills to generate 2D and 3D drawings and models using Autodesk software such as Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
• Administer CAD software, including Autodesk Vault, ensuring efficient operation, handling software updates, troubleshooting issues and providing user support.
• Implement CAD automation tools and scripts to improve design process efficiency and precision.
• Maintain and populate the CAD library, keeping all components, templates and standards updated and accessible.
• Conduct quality reviews of drawings and models to ensure they meet internal and client specifications.
• Assist in training new CAD users and provide ongoing support to the team on CAD‑related matters.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams – mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, naval architects and control systems engineers – to ensure seamless integration and compatibility between systems and tools.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including specifications, work instructions, engineering drawings and technical reports, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date records throughout the process.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in CAD design, with a focus on Autodesk software such as Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of CAD automation and scripting.
• Excellent organisational skills, including time management, prioritisation and deadline adherence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse team members.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify, analyse and resolve complex challenges.
• A courageous and innovative mindset, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking and propose novel ideas.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to create accurate technical drawings and models.
• Experience in workshop and manufacturing environments would be highly beneficial.

Security:
Candidates must meet UK baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) and, where required, a further security check will be conducted. Candidates must also have the right to live and work in the UK.
