Shape the Future of Secure Space-Based Networks An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Systems Engineer to join our Lead Systems Engineers and Architects team within Defence & Space industry in Portsmouth, UK.This is your chance to directly contribute to the next generation of critical military satellite communications capability, including key future-looking programmes like the UK MOD's Skynet Enduring Capability and other vital Milsatcom initiatives.

Our client has a proven track record, having delivered Milsatcom capability to the UK MOD from Skynet 4, through the successful Skynet 5 PFI, and currently delivering Skynet 6A on orbit. • Defining the comprehensive Ground System level architectural design, including leading technical trade-offs.
• Working closely with Engineering Leads and Partners to define segment and associated sub-system architectures via integrated Working Groups.
• Owning the end-to-end requirements lifecycle: capture and definition from high-level stakeholder needs down to sub-system specifications.
• Ensuring complete traceability and managing the Verification, Validation, and Test (VV&T) support activities.
• Providing expert technical inputs for major proposals and bids.
• Acting as the Solution Lead for customer and internal governance reviews, informing stakeholders on progress and problem resolution.
• Contributing to Systems Engineering and project management inputs for planning, schedule, and cost activities.

• A University degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in the design, integration, and roll-out of end-to-end digital telecommunications systems. (Experience with Milsatcom systems is highly desirable).
• Demonstrable experience covering the space, control, and ground segments using established methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
• Experience in defining solutions within an Architectural Framework utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and appropriate tools (Enterprise Architect is desirable).
• Experience in technical engagement with external customers and internal partners.
• A solid working understanding of the key portfolios, including satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, and network control.
• Robust presentation and technical writing skills.
