Trade Counter Assistant & Depot Operative

Hyphose is a leading supplier of fluid power and related products, and we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Trade Counter Assistant & Depot Operative to join our team. This role would suit someone practical, friendly, and willing to get involved in a wide range of tasks within a busy depot environment.

• Comfortable with practical, detailed, and sometimes repetitive tasks
• Friendly, approachable, and adaptable

• Quick learner with common sense
• Valid full UK driving licence
• Understanding of measurements
• Basic everyday maths and physics
• Mechanical aptitude (e.g., using hand tools, understanding nuts/bolts and threads)

• Plumbing
• Gas installations
• Pipework or ductwork

Full training will be provided.

You will play a key part in supporting our customers and ensuring the smooth running of the depot. This is a hands‑on role that requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

• Serving customers at the trade counter and helping them find the right fluid power solutions
• Selecting components and assembling hydraulic hoses to specification
• Checking, booking in, and putting away stock orders
• Booking in and out customer orders
• Carrying out local deliveries in a company vehicle
• General depot duties to support Health & Safety and compliance
• Assisting colleagues with larger jobs
• Answering telephone enquiries
• Transferring stock to and from other depots
• Assisting with stocktaking and machinery cleaning/servicing
