MaintenanceMechanic
What this job involves:
At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way - for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees, and this role sits right at the heart of that mission. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be the hands-on presence that keeps our client's buildings running smoothly, safely, and looking their best every single day. You'll move furniture and equipment between buildings, warehouse materials, and tackle a wide range of general maintenance tasks - from minor door and desk repairs to ceiling tile and carpet fixes.
You'll also support senior mechanics on more complex projects, giving you the chance to learn, grow, and build real technical skill over time. We embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career, so this role is as much about where you're headed as it is about the work you do today. Flexibility matters here - you may be asked to work overtime, early mornings, late nights, weekends, or holidays, and you'll be exposed to a variety of commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems along the way.
- Move furniture and equipment as directed, and truck items safely between buildings
- Warehouse furniture and equipment, keeping storage organized and accessible
- Perform minor door adjustments, desk repairs, and furniture and shelving fixes
- Replace ceiling tiles and light bulbs as part of routine upkeep
- Secure loose or hazardous carpet and floor tile, and complete carpet/floor tile repairs or replacements
- Handle other architectural maintenance tasks across commercial buildings as assigned
- Complete preventive maintenance (PM) work, including inspections of doors, wet vacs, corded equipment, mechanical rooms, common areas, and building lighting
- Support senior mechanics with more complex repairs and modifications, learning as you go
- Stay available for scheduled and emergency overtime, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- A valid, clean driver's license to safely move furniture and materials between buildings
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
- Ability to write simple, clear correspondence
- Strong verbal communication skills for working with customers and coworkers
- Willingness to attend all scheduled safety training provided by management
- Experience with basic hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of office furniture installation and repair, including hanging whiteboards and over stores
- General maintenance experience across a range of building systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and related programs
- Strong organizational skills to manage workload and meet customer needs efficiently
- Ability to read and interpret basic layout drawings, system drawings, and manufacturer equipment specifications
- Knowledge of standard maintenance practices and procedures
