Our TeamWe have an exciting opportunity within the Mail, Print and Scan service (MPS) for a Production Officer. MPS provides an essential service for Lancashire County Council, ensuring mail, print and scanning are managed effectively. The service is also key to supporting the council's digital strategy assisting services to work electronically where possible.
The RoleYou will work predominantly in a busy mail, print, and scanning reception environment, where you will provide excellent customer service to our internal colleagues and external suppliers/visitors.
Additionally, you will also enjoy the diversity of what the service has to offer, including:
- Utilising a range of technical applications to review, amend and finalise documentation for print/distribution.
- Utilising specialist equipment relating to mail, print and scanning, ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
- Working within the team to ensure that accurate records are maintained, and deadlines are met as well as supporting the cross‑training initiative we have in place with other staff members as required.
To be considered for this role you should have excellent customer service skills as you will be primarily working in a front facing reception area. You must have excellent timekeeping and attendance records; experience of working in a fast‑paced environment, with the ability to learn and retain information efficiently; and be comfortable with learning how to use specialised equipment and various software applications, including all Microsoft Office applications.
Good prioritisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines are essential. You must also have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and must have strong manual handling skills, as the role will involve moving parcels and packages safely around the service.
The successful candidate will join a team working to a rota schedule covering the hours of 8am – 5pm, which offers some flexibility.
