Senior Product Compliance Engineer
Location: Barrow‑In‑Furness, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth, Frimley or Filton – hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
Salary: Competitive.
Job Overview
Working as part of an Integrated Development Team focused on developing and delivering submarine systems and capabilities. Responsibilities include ensuring Product Safety tasking and activities are completed across multiple systems, supporting Hazard Identification and Analysis studies, generating safety reports, and maintaining the project Safety Management System.
Responsibilities
- Help deliver submarine system safety as part of the Integrated Development Team.
- Ensure Product Safety tasking is completed across multiple systems throughout the Engineering Life Cycle Management.
- Support Hazard Identification and Analysis studies.
- Assist with or generate safety reports.
- Ensure the Integrated Development Team operates within the Safety Management System.
- Liaise with other Integrated Development Teams and the Whole Boat Safety Team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduated with a 2:2 (or above) in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree, or equivalent experience and intention to obtain a degree.
- Understanding of Safety and Systems Engineering and Engineering Life Cycle Management.
- Experience delivering tasks as part of a team, with the ability to work independently.
- Agile working practices and meeting customer expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience as a Product Safety Engineer in the maritime defence sector preferred.

Additional Information
This role provides an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of safety management and safety case delivery. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.
Security & Eligibility
Roles may involve security and export control restrictions. Minimum requirement:
Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Certain positions may require higher levels of National Security Vetting with 5‑10 years continuous residency in the UK.
