Our client is an established EC&I engineering company serving the mining and industrial sectors. They need an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to plan, direct and coordinate electrical designs from project scoping through to the manufacturing data pack.
What you'll do:- Design MCCs to IEC 61439, including heat rise calculations, equipment selection and layouts
- Design substations, lighting and small power, cable racking, cable sizing and transformer sizing
- Prepare scopes of work, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents
- Liaise with clients on design requirements and make sure designs meet legal, SANS and safety standards
- Compile data packs for the manufacturing and software engineering phases
- Mentor and coach CAD operators and engineers-in-training
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or NQF equivalent)
- Extensive design and operational experience, including relevant design software
- Mining industry exposure and industrial plant design experience
- Working knowledge of SANS standards, the OHS Act and the MHS Act
- Knowledge of international electrical and instrumentation specifications and standards
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems
- Pr Eng registration
