Field Compliance Specialist – TC Energy

Responsibilities- Manage regulatory inspection and audit activities for external inspections by BCER, CER, and other provincial or federal inspectors, including TSB in incident response.
- Support TC Energy’s internal programs and processes, including management systems.
- Provide guidance on regulations, standards, best practices, company policies, procedures, and their applicability.
- Assist the emergency management team in planning and conducting emergency response drills that include regulatory reporting and field deployment.
- Respond to and manage reportable incidents/accidents.
- Collaborate with related functional resources and peer Compliance Team members to support effective company-wide compliance programs.
- Implement regulatory initiatives related to standards, processes, and procedures.
- Identify process improvements and best practices, and work with key stakeholders to ensure implementation.
- Represent TC Energy in all aspects of regulatory requirements with regulators.
- Disseminate information on key regulatory compliance issues to senior leadership for informed decision making.
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support for timely reporting of events and unauthorized activities to CER, BCER and TSB via Enablon and telephone inquiries.
- Prepare written reports and information request responses to regulatory authorities and assist in review of reports by others.
- Graduation from a 2- or 3-year technical school program or associate degree in engineering technology.
- 6 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of energy regulations and operations in the oil and natural gas pipeline industry, especially BCER and CER.
- Very strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to tailor delivery to all levels of audience.
- Advanced knowledge of pipeline operations, including engineering, safety, and compliance.
- Strong planning, organizing, prioritizing, strategic thinking and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Ability to work with formal and informal organizational networks and effectively with all organizational levels.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up to 30% of schedule).
- Night and overnight travel as needed (estimated up to 30% of schedule).
- Participation in an on‑call rotation and provision of emergency support as required.
