.

This opening is for the entry level position into the pulp mill. The successful candidate will start in the labour pool and use their seniority to bid into production or other departments as positions become available.

Responsibilities

You'll Do:

  • Housekeeping in our Chip Screens area
  • Learning our safety procedures
  • Troubleshooting equipment as requested

As you accrue seniority in the union you will have the opportunity to bid into various departments when positions open up.

Qualifications
  • A grade 12 diploma
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Our West Fraser values (including integrity, humility, teamwork, frugality, innovation, competitiveness, and respect)
  • The desire to learn, grow and succeed
  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset
Compensation Package
  • The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company. The current minimum rate is $34.72/hour.
  • Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.
Workplace Location

Located in Quesnel, BC, Cariboo Pulp and Paper is a fore running producer of NBSK pulp as well as clean, green energy. Quesnel has a population of approximately 25,000 and features all major conveniences, including its own airport. Quesnel offers affordable housing, modern recreational and educational facilities, regular community events, as well as unlimited recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiast.
