Our Retail Store Manager (SM) is vital to delivering a distinctive shopping experience. The SM works collaboratively with company management and is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supervising day‑to‑day retail operations at the store location.

Responsibilities
  • Help hire great people, supervise and manage employees, and ensure all employees have a valid Selling It Right licence.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking.
  • Coach team members and provide positive and constructive feedback for professional growth.
  • Train all team members on work procedures and policies so that everyone understands what is required to do a great job.
  • Maintain written SOPs as policy or regulatory changes occur and ensure compliance among the team.
  • Assist in building a weekly staff schedule that complies with labor policies.
  • Be accessible and responsive to all team members’ questions, suggestions, and concerns, and help resolve conflicts.
  • Achieve high scores on metrics related to Sales Associate Support – high retention of top talent and high team engagement scores.
  • Lead by example and work with staff to handle circumstances that may arise in a high‑volume retail store.
Sales and Customer Service
  • Own all customer feedback and provide complaint resolution in coordination with head office procedures.
  • Utilize customer and team member feedback to implement changes that improve the customer experience.
  • Execute cannabis selling strategies through collaboration with marketing and operations, including incentives, displays, and promotions.
  • Recommend future promotions and ways to increase sales based on previous successes.
  • View sales reports and communicate with the team to identify sales trends and inventory needs.
  • Track all employee and store sales daily to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze core metrics to better understand store performance and exceed goals.
  • Use approved employee incentives to drive sales and boost morale.
  • Achieve monthly store revenue and gross margin goals and maintain high scores on all social media customer reviews.
Daily Store Operations
  • Maintain store compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations; organize and communicate all required reporting, paperwork, and state tracking system recording.
  • Assist with inventory, sales, and compliance audits.
  • Perform all daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Implement and oversee security, reporting, and cash management procedures.
  • Make staff schedules and create a sound work environment.
  • Maintain the facility and troubleshoot as necessary (phone, utilities, technology, repairs, stock, supplies).
  • Ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked and track expiring products.
  • Coordinate with management for daily/monthly/yearly inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure expired/damaged/returned product is logged and disposed of according to regulations.
  • Assist with wholesale deliveries to confirm compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide daily correspondence via email and manager’s log as needed.
  • Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non‑disclosure.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Must have Selling It Right Certification and provide a clean Criminal Background Check prior to start date.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5–6 years of retail work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role in a retail environment.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Excellent time‑management and prioritizing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Skills to monitor and assess staff performance.
  • Basic office administration skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Highly effective teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to plan and organize work and ensure completion.
  • Diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people‑management skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to sales software quickly.
