Looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? In Prince Rupert, you’ll take on a dynamic role operating both transit buses and Handy

DART buses. From providing reliable transportation across town or further down the road, to supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities with door-to-door service, your work will help keep the community connected. This role is about more than just driving, it’s about offering safe, respectful service, supporting independence, and ensuring every passenger feels valued. • Safely transport passengers and provide door-to-door assistance when required
• Comfortable travelling out of town for scheduled charter work
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
• Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
• Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
• Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

• Valid Driver's License – Class 1 or 2 with air endorsement required
• Ability to pass the required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
• Provide a clean driver's abstract
• Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
• Physically able to perform all job duties

• Transit Bus: $29.90/hour
• Handy
  
  DART: $28.60/hour
• Luggage Truck: $26.00/hour
