Job Description & How to Apply Below
Snoonu is looking for a Head of Accounting to lead the Group's entire Record-to-Report (R2R) function — the very core of the Finance organization. You will own month-end and year-end closing, Group consolidation, and full IFRS compliance, including business combinations, leasing (IFRS 16), and Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP), across every Snoonu Group entity. Leading the Financial Accounting and Financial Reporting teams — and working closely with the Chief Accountants, Senior Financial Accountants, Senior Accountants, Senior Payables Accountant, and Senior Specialist – Financial Reporting — you will ensure that every number the business relies on, from board reporting to statutory audit, is accurate, timely, and defensible.
This is a senior technical and people-leadership role for someone who wants to build a world-class accounting function capable of scaling with Snoonu's continued expansion across the GCC and beyond.
- Own the Record-to-Report Function: Lead end-to-end R2R across all Snoonu Group entities — month-end and year-end close, journal governance, trial balance review, and ledger integrity — ensuring the Financial Accounting and Financial Reporting teams deliver a closed, reconciled set of books every cycle.
- Lead Month-End & Year-End Closing: Own the Group close calendar and governance, driving the team toward faster, more reliable close cycles (standalone and consolidated) while maintaining a complete audit trail and supporting documentation.
- Own Group Consolidation: Lead preparation and continuous improvement of the Group consolidation (balance sheet, income statement, retained earnings, and cash flow) across all legal entities, ensuring intercompany eliminations, FX translation, and minority interests are correctly reflected.
- Ensure IFRS Compliance: Act as Snoonu's technical accounting authority, ensuring full Group-wide compliance with IFRS — including revenue recognition (IFRS 15), leases (IFRS 16), financial instruments (IFRS
9), and business combinations (IFRS
3) — and own the Group accounting policy manual. - Own Business Combinations & M&A Accounting: Lead the accounting for acquisitions, mergers, and new entity formations, including purchase price allocation, goodwill and intangible asset recognition, and integration of acquired financial records into the Group chart of accounts.
- Oversee Leasing & CWIP: Own end-to-end IFRS 16 lease accounting (recognition, remeasurement, and disclosures) and Capital Work-in-Progress governance, ensuring capitalization policies are applied consistently and assets are transferred to use on time.
- Lead Statutory & External Audit: Own the annual audit and quarterly reviews end to end — the single point of accountability for the auditor relationship, audit planning, PBC (prepared-by-client) delivery, and resolution of findings.
- Govern Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Oversee the Group fixed asset register and depreciation policy, including asset system migrations (e.g., to Microsoft Dynamics 365), ensuring accurate capitalization and disposal accounting across all entities.
- Deliver Group & Management Reporting: Own the monthly standalone and consolidated reporting packages and board/CEO reporting, monitoring EBITDA, net profit, liquidity, DPO, and other key financial metrics that inform business decisions.
- Partner on ERP & Finance Transformation: Act as the Record-to-Report business owner for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 migration and the broader finance automation agenda, ensuring the target design meets Group accounting and reporting requirements.
- Lead & Develop the Accounting Organization: Lead, coach, and develop the Chief Accountant, Senior Financial Accountants, Senior Accountants, Senior Payables Accountant, and…
