Assistant.e-Gérant.e de projet - Construction at Borea Construction.

Mission:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, ensure the overall supervision and coordination of all construction project stages, collaborating with health & safety, planning, quality, cost, client relations, and subcontractors.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or construction.
  • Canadian professional engineer membership (CPI) or other engineering association membership (asset).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent French, oral and written; intermediate English.
  • High geographic mobility.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Team‑working ability.
  • Excellent management, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
  • Initiative, autonomy and leadership.
  • Strong administrative rigor.
  • Ability to thrive in a high‑stress, weather‑variable construction environment.
Responsibilities

On‑site representative of the company: plan tasks, manage schedule, estimate work, award contracts, control costs, manage the project, supervise the project team, and maintain positive relationships with community, clients, suppliers and the project team.

Project Coordination
  • Co‑ordinate work with the project team.
  • Establish work methods with site manager and superintendent.
  • Negotiate and approve key contractor selection with senior management.
  • Procure and manage purchases.
  • Organise and lead construction site meetings as needed.
  • Participate in client meetings and disseminate required information.
  • Organise internal meetings to coordinate resources and subcontractors.
  • Have the authority to halt any non‑compliant activity as per Borea Construction policy.
Project Monitoring
  • Administrative tracking (costs, productivity, contingencies, contracts).
  • Technical tracking (technical sheets, inspections).
  • Track change notices – estimate, client offer, negotiation, issuance of orders/contracts.
  • Track payments with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Authorize payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Track warranties.
  • Coordinate preliminary inspections with the superintendent.
  • Coordinate pre‑operation verification with the superintendent.
  • Deliver the project in collaboration with the superintendent and secure final client acceptance.
  • Communicate performance indicators to senior management.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
