Reporting to the Operations Department, the Director of Engineering defines and implements strategies for improving processes, tools, and overall performance at the manufacturing plant. He or she acts as a catalyst for efficiency, safety, and innovation in order to increase production capacity while optimizing the work environment.
Main responsibilities:
Lead the manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and tooling departments.Optimize assembly processes to increase productivity, quality, and safety.Oversee investment and modernization projects (equipment, automation, ergonomics).Implement a structured approach to continuous improvement (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).Promote technical and organizational innovation to support growth and competitiveness.Work closely with production, quality, and R&D to ensure standardization and performance.Manage technical budgets (CAPEX/OPEX) and ensure regulatory compliance of facilities.Skills and qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.7 to 10 years of manufacturing experience, including 5 years in management.Strategic vision and transformational leadership.Solid experience in industrial assembly and tooling environments.Excellent command of Lean/Six Sigma methods.Recognized skills in technical project management and mobilizing multidisciplinary teams.Bilingualism (French/English) an asset.
