We hire an engineering manager to lead the reboot of our Landscape systems‑management solution for Ubuntu, a product that helps enterprises manage policy, compliance, patch management and access control for large Ubuntu estates.
The role focuses on architecture, delivery and people leadership. You will work closely with product managers, set an engineering roadmap, grow and mentor a team, and collaborate with other engineering and business units. Technical proficiency in Python and/or Go, strong architectural judgment, and a background in software engineering are required.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a regional team of engineers
Coach, mentor and provide career development for team members
Contribute sound engineering principles and directly influence team goals
Set and manage expectations with engineering teams, senior management and external stakeholders
Lead modern, agile software development practices
Maintain a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values
Act as a member of the leadership team and collaborate with other senior leaders
Build automated, highly reliable image‑delivery, testing and publication pipelines
Engage with internal teams, the open‑source community and commercial partners
Work from home while traveling globally 4‑6 weeks per year for internal and external events
Valued Skills And Experience
Track record of mentoring and coaching people
Deep passion for software development and delivering high‑quality software
Experience with agile development methodologies
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM or related field
Senior software‑development experience in Python or Go
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Practical experience with Linux system administration
