Senior Supply Chain Specialist

Role Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator supports inbound logistics operations, ensuring accurate data management, timely shipment coordination, and compliance with company standards. This role focuses on shipment booking, documentation, customs clearance, and process improvement initiatives within JAM’s logistics framework. The Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling logistics KPIs, maintaining supplier operational procedures, and collaborating with internal and external partners to resolve shipment issues.

Key Responsibilities (PO Management Excluded)
  • Handle shipments from booking to receipt in JAM Inbound Management system, including customs, ocean, and other transport modes.
  • Analyze lead time performance and report on goods in transit (weekly/monthly).
  • Support building and maintaining logistics supplier operational procedures (SOP) with internal clients, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Fulfill logistics KPIs and dashboards; manage reporting for internal and external clients.
  • Prepare and confirm document packages for customs clearance; communicate and follow up with customs brokers and forwarders.
  • Review and validate freight costs; resolve receiving issues and claims with warehouse and transport companies.
  • Ensure shipping methods comply with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve shipment-related issues.
  • Propose and implement solutions for difficult or unexpected transportation situations.
  • Support process improvements and participate in logistics meetings.
  • Ensure strong customer service and maintain close working relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Track and trace shipments daily; receipt of shipments in ERP system.
  • Audit customs invoices for accuracy and support duty drawback applications.
  • Improve internal systems and procedures on an ongoing basis.
Required Education & Experience
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics/traffic coordination (international shipments preferred).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle/JD Edwards) and Fresh Service.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020.
  • Experience with customs regulations (Canada and USA) is an asset.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to set priorities and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a team, autonomously, and remotely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Vlookup, Pivot table, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytics skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluently bilingual (English and French, spoken and written).
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and standards while learning new tasks and processes.
Assets / Nice-to-Have
  • Air or ocean import with freight forwarding experience.
  • CIFFA I & II certificates and CCS are considered an asset.
  • Dangerous Goods certificate and/or experience.
  • F&W / Lacey Act understanding of requirements
  • Purchasing experience.
  • Passion for the transport industry and a drive to succeed.
