THE EMPLOYER IS: BUSINESS PT LTDThis role is a general business administration position supporting the founder of a small consultancy business that provides operational, IT, and strategic support to organisations across Northern Ireland.

The participant will assist with the day-to-day administration of the business, working mainly with digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and other modern office software. The role will also involve using tools such as ChatGPT and Canva to help prepare documents, presentations, and simple business materials, with the opportunity to gain exposure to other tools such as Figma where appropriate.

The participant will support basic finance administration, including organising records and assisting with bookkeeping tasks, as well as helping with grant applications and business forms by gathering information, completing templates, and tracking deadlines. Full training and supervision will be provided, and no prior experience is required.

We are happy to support someone with caring responsibilities who needs their hours to be flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Managing emails, calendars, and meeting scheduling.
  • Organising digital files and documentation.
  • Preparing documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Supporting day-to-day business operations.
  • Uploading receipts and expenses.
  • Assisting with basic bookkeeping tasks using Xero.
  • Organising financial records and summaries.
  • Supporting grant and funding administration (under supervision).
  • Preparing meeting agendas and notes.
  • Tracking actions and updating task lists.
  • Assisting with documentation for consultancy projects.
  • Supporting workshop preparation and follow-up.
  • Researching funding opportunities.
  • Gathering information and evidence for applications.
  • Tracking deadlines and requirements.
  • Using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Word and Excel.
  • Maintaining task trackers and internal systems.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic IT Skills - Comfortable using a computer, email, and common digital tools, with an interest in learning new systems and software.
  • Good Organisation Skills - Able to manage tasks, files, and information in an organised way and follow simple processes.
  • Attention to Detail - Careful and accurate when completing tasks, checking information, and working with documents or forms.
  • Willingness to Learn - Open to feedback, keen to develop new skills, and willing to try their best when learning new tasks.
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication - Able to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Interest in Business - An interest in how businesses operate, including administration, finance, and day-to-day operations.
