Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our team at Glenkeen House Nursing Home, 100 Glenkeen, Randalstown. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care and collaborating with residents, families and the healthcare team to provide a compassionate and safe environment.

Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care to residents, including administering medication, treatments, and therapies.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical conditions, and progress of residents.
- Ensure dignity, privacy, and respect for all residents in all interactions.
- Work in other homes in the business on short notice to assist with staffing levels.
- Provide companionship to residents.
- Provide professional information to family members about care plans.
- Ensure the needs and wishes of the residents are met.
- Work with other health care professionals to provide high standards of care.
- Attend all necessary training when instructed.
- Participate in any other duties detailed by management that may be considered relevant.
- Report and record any breaks or damages to your manager or Deputy Manager.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude when carrying out duties and be willing to go the extra mile if an unexpected situation arises.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure accountability for care provided and for tasks delegated to staff members.
- Ensure care staff are appropriately trained and supervised, ensuring an understanding of duties before delegating care.
- Walk the floor, observing resident care firsthand.
- Ensure compliance with care plans and hygiene needs.
- Identify areas of improvement and act on them.
- Perform routine and specialised nursing procedures as required.
- Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and resident information.
- Liaise with doctors, healthcare professionals, and external agencies regarding resident care.
- Work closely with other nursing staff, care assistants, and support staff to provide a coordinated approach to care.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Mentor and support nursing students.
- Keep residents' care records up to date and inform Manager/Deputy Manager of any changes.
- Maintain involvement with resident care plans and keep records accurate, meticulous and legible.
- Keep up to date medical records.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.

- Compassionate and caring disposition.
- At least six months experience working with patients within a Care Home Setting.
