We are seeking an experienced Design / Technical Design Manager to lead and oversee the design process across multiple projects within the built environment. This role is responsible for managing design teams from concept through final production, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables. The position is primarily office-based with occasional site visits.

• Lead design teams through all stages of the design process, from concept development to final documentation.
• Oversee the production of high-quality structural and technical drawings that are accurate, compliant, and easy to interpret.
• Provide technical expertise to guide design decisions and resolve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs are delivered on time, within scope, and to required quality standards.
• Review designs with health, safety, and risk mitigation in mind to reduce construction and financial risk.

• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless design integration.
• Work directly with clients to ensure expectations are understood and met.
• Review architectural drawings and technical documents to identify conflicts, discrepancies, or risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source appropriate materials, finishes, and fittings.

• Implement and manage quality control processes across all design deliverables.
• Conduct thorough reviews to ensure compliance with approved specifications, building regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation of the design process.
• Stay up to date with evolving building legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.

• Lead, motivate, and mentor internal and external design teams.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of technical design staff.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external meetings.
• Maintain accurate records of design development activities, including samples, swatches, and documentation.
• Support administrative coordination for the design team, including scheduling and logistics as required.
• Anticipate issues and proactively resolve problems as they arise.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical design management within the building sector.
• Strong experience in interior fit-out design, materials, and construction methodologies.
• Proven experience working within regulated construction environments, ideally within the UAE or similar markets.

• Strong leadership and team management capability.
• In-depth knowledge of building regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D modelling, and rendering tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and perform under pressure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and green building standards is an advantage.
