Job Purpose
The Senior Wet Utilities Engineer plays a key technical role in the planning, design, and implementation of wet utility systems, including wastewater, treated sewage effluent (TSE), stormwater drainage, hydrology, and irrigation. This role contributes to the execution of infrastructure projects by delivering expert-level engineering input, ensuring compliance with design standards, and supporting project delivery in line with departmental goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Section Manager in the planning and execution of engineering activities across all wet utility networks.
- Deliver high-quality design input for wastewater, TSE, stormwater, and irrigation systems.
- Review and verify engineering designs, drawings, and calculations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project specifications.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of wet utility components in infrastructure projects.
- Participate in technical meetings, design workshops, and site inspections as needed.
- Utilize tools such as Info Works and other hydraulic modeling software for effective analysis and design.
- Ensure that all project documentation and reports are updated and maintained according to quality standards.
- Monitor project timelines and raise any technical risks or delays for proactive resolution.
- Stay current with local authority regulations and engineering codes relevant to wet utilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 10–12 years of relevant experience in wet utility design and infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience with large-scale infrastructure or municipal development projects, especially in the UAE/GCC region, is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Info Works and related hydraulic modeling/design tools.
- Strong understanding of local authority regulations and standards related to stormwater and wastewater systems.
- Chartered Engineer status is an advantage but not required.
- Excellent communication, technical reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
