Construction Sub Agent, Site Manager

We are looking for an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of a major highways project in the Reading area. This is a long-term 24-month contract operating Outside IR35, offering stability and continuity on a high-profile infrastructure programme.

The successful candidate will assist in managing on-site works, ensuring safety, quality, and programme performance across multiple work fronts.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in day-to-day delivery

* Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with specifications

* Assist with planning, sequencing, and daily coordination of site operations

* Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld

* Prepare and review RAMS, permits, and daily logs

* Monitor progress against programme and provide accurate reporting

* Coordinate with design teams, stakeholders, and site engineers

* Drive quality control and ensure works are built to required standards

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Sub Agent within highways or civil engineering projects

* Strong understanding of traffic management, earthworks, drainage, structures, or general highway schemes

* SMSTS, CSCS (essential)

* Good communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and support efficient project delivery

* Right to work in the UK
