A rapidly expanding interiors main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a major £20m commercial fit-out and refurbishment project in Reading. This is a high-impact role with genuine ownership, visibility, and the chance to shape both project delivery and the growth of the business.

The Role

As Senior QS, you’ll manage the full commercial lifecycle of the project — from procurement and subcontractor management through to cost reporting, change control, valuations and final accounts. You’ll be the go-to commercial lead on a flagship scheme, working closely with project leadership and clients to keep delivery profitable, controlled and on programme.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead commercial management of a £20m fit-out & refurbishment project

* Take responsibility for procurement, tendering and subcontractor management

* Manage cost plans, CVRs, forecasting and financial reporting

* Oversee valuations, variations, change control and final account negotiations

* Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial alignment and risk mitigation

* Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders

* Contribute to commercial strategy within a growing contractor

Requirements

* Strong experience as a QS/Senior QS within fit-out, interiors or refurbishment

* Track record managing high-value, complex projects

* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills

* Confident communicator with the ability to lead from the front

* Organised, proactive and able to manage a fast-paced workload

* Ambitious, with the desire to grow as the business expands
