The Opportunity

A well-established and highly regarded building services contractor is looking to appoint a Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the mechanical installation on a large, multi-room residential development in Reading.

This is a long-term site-based role on a high-quality residential scheme, offering stability and the chance to work for a contractor known for delivering complex MEP projects across the UK.

The Role

As Mechanical Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the mechanical installation on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing mechanical works across a multi-room residential project

* Supervising subcontractors and direct labour

* Coordinating plant rooms, risers, and apartment installations

* Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications, and RAMS

* Maintaining high health & safety standards on site

* Working closely with the Project Manager, M&E teams, and main contractor

* Managing quality control, inspections, snagging, and handover

* Tracking progress and reporting against programme

About You

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within the residential / multi-room sector (essential)

* Strong background in building services mechanical installation

* Experience on large, multi-room residential developments (apartments / high-rise / mixed-use)

* Confident managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts

* Strong site leadership and communication skills

* SMSTS and relevant mechanical qualifications

* Salary of £50,000 - £60,000, depending on experience
