Senior Quantity Surveyor

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial success of a high‑profile building project in Reading. You’ll be responsible for managing all project costs from initial calculations through to final figures, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining quality and standards.

• Governance – Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities.
• Commercial Management and Administration
  • Orders information and systematically checks data
  • Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
  • Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
  • Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time‑Location
  • Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
  • Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately
  • Prepares internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and reports to senior project staff
• Customer/Change Management
  • Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management
  • Analyses rates & prices, agreements of variations and/or compensation events as required
  • Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
  • Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility
• Procurement
  • Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
  • Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy
• Development, Recruitment and Retention
  • Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
• MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards them
• CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person)
