Mott Mac Donald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business that combines the design expertise of Mott Mac Donald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley to deliver award‑winning projects. The company has recently extended its contract with Thames Water for an additional five years, continuing the current agreement until March 2030 and delivering a varied programme of water and wastewater projects in the Thames Valley.

The Civil Engineer Project Leader role fuses traditional Project Management with Design Engineering, managing projects through the outline and detailed design lifecycle, supported by our multidisciplinary teams. This environment allows you to accelerate your journey to chartership and develop cross‑discipline expertise.

• Work as part of a “project triangle” alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
• Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from the initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate the project team—including civil, electrical, mechanical, process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists—to ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by each framework and industry specifications.
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with the clients’ project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a “one‑team” approach.

• Accredited Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Member of a recognised Engineering Institution or demonstrable progress towards these goals.
• Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
