We are currently recruiting for Project Managers on behalf of a bespoke electrical and mechanical engineering company who manage the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning. They mainly work within Water Utilities. Operating 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service.
They have a client base which boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation. The Project Manager will demonstrate good commercial aptitude in playing a pivotal role in delivering specialist projects (mainly within the UK Water Industry) with individual values ranging from c £1K to c £500K and must have a committed and flexible 'can do' attitude to undertaking a multi-functional project management role to successfully deliver a variety of Electrical/ Mechanical / Instrumentation / Controls / SCADA / Telemetry related schemes.
- Initial project feasibility, survey, project scoping, estimation, design
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, and communicate these plans to stakeholders.
- Planning and purchasing materials / sub-contractors as required.
- Planning resource availability, and skills requirements liaising with internal staff to secure multi-disciplined internal labour.
- Regular liaison with client representatives
- Adjusting projects priorities and milestones based upon the customer's changing needs.
- Providing regular feedback on operational issues / concerns to stakeholders and senior managers
- Monitoring project budgets and assisting with data for commercial invoices.
- Planning and scheduling resources to meet project goals.
- Adhere to Companies Policies, Procedures & Legal Practices
- Adhere to the Companies Health & Safety Policies & Procedures
- Adhere to the Companies Quality Management system.
- Electrical Or Mechanical Experience and qualifications.
- Industrial Controls and Telemetry Experience would be beneficial.
- Computer literate / good IT skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good budget management.
- Ability to negotiate commercially.
- Ability to work well with other teams within the company.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
