We have successfully extended our contract with Thames Water for an additional five years. As the largest water and wastewater provider in the UK, Thames Water serves 15 million customers throughout London and the Thames Valley. This extension will carry the current agreement through to the end of AMP8 in March 2030.

The sites are located across the Thames Valley region:
Aylesbury, Banbury, Reading.

Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, our engineers are based on site and play a practical, hands‑on role in the successful delivery of projects.

As a Mechanical Engineer you will work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities – from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature‑based solutions that improve biodiversity.

Role of a Mechanical Engineer
  • Help integrate the design, construction and commissioning of plant and equipment with focus on mechanical installation techniques, materials and process plants.
  • Plan and programme the M&E aspects of the projects we deliver; working with design and operational teams (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical).
  • During the construction phase, oversee subcontractors, ensure installations meet standards, monitor and conduct testing, review risk assessments and oversee mechanical safety.
  • Support the creation of commissioning plans, particularly with respect to outage planning and transition from existing to new processes.
  • Manage project inspection and test plans, acceptance documents, training materials and completion documentation to ensure quality assurance.
  • Support and mentor apprentices and graduate mechanical engineers.
What You’ll Need
  • CSCS
  • HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
