Location: Glasgow, Reading, Altrincham, Southampton (Remote where possible)

As a Safety Case Engineer in the Energy Unit’s Nuclear, Defence and Civil division, you will develop and maintain safety cases for nuclear power generation, naval nuclear programmes, and decommissioning projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safety cases that meet regulatory and client expectations.

• Produce and maintain safety cases (SJP, PCSR, PRS, etc.)
• Prepare safety case related submissions for modification and design change (LC/AC 22)
• Conduct functional safety assessments and associated safety & risk analysis
• Interface with regulatory authorities and contribute to regulatory submissions
• Lead ALARP, deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments
• Support decommissioning safety case activities
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to safety culture within the unit

• Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering discipline
• Experience in nuclear or defence industry (or high‑hazard sector)
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
• Demonstrated delivery of nuclear safety deliverables on complex projects
• Eligible to obtain security clearance
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
