Construction - Electrical Design Engineer - Senior Position

Job DescriptionWe seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead a one‑team culture and deliver technical excellence in water, wastewater, and process treatment plant projects. The role includes coordination, project management, and design leadership under a design manager.
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the design team to deliver outputs for multiple projects.
- Assist in all aspects of electrical design: site surveys, optioneering, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing.
- Produce procurement specifications, cable calculations, and detailed construction drawings.
- Project‑manage third‑party designs and support installation and commissioning teams.
- Engage with clients and subcontractors, including regular meetings and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with Design, Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures.
- Track and adjust design delivery performance to meet targets, keeping the MIDP up‑to‑date.
- Monitor and update Design Change Control and liaise between Mechanical, Civil & Structural designers.
- Commitment to excellence in Health & Safety, including full compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) and other relevant H&S legislation.
- In‑depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes and equipment, including pumping systems.
- Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients.
- Ability to produce clear and concise electrical design deliverables across all design stages.
- Experience managing design delivery and project management.
- Leadership skills to motivate individuals to consistently deliver.
- Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
- A drive for professional development and knowledge of emerging technical solutions.
- Flexibility to travel within the UK (including Northern Ireland) and Ireland.
