Responsibilities

• Carry out building and structural surveys and inspections across the Western region.
• Lead and complete examinations in line with Network Rail standards and relevant legislation.
• Accurately assess building conditions, identify defects, and recommend remedial actions.
• Undertake possession work and produce high‑quality condition assessment reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into Citadel and other reporting systems to meet contract KPIs.
• Report any significant or urgent defects to the Operations and Delivery Managers.
• Support and mentor junior staff members.
• Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and key company procedures.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in building surveying, inspections, or asset management within rail or civil engineering sectors.
• Qualified to STE
  05 competency.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, construction methods, and materials.
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification essential.
• Knowledge of Network Rail Standards ( / L3 / CIV / 006), CDM Regulations, and infrastructure safety requirements.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
• Awareness or certification in Confined Spaces, Asbestos Awareness, and Working at Height preferred.

• Salary range £34,000 – £40,000 (depending on experience)
