Senior Manager - Strategic Finance - IFRS 9, 15, 16
Location: Berkshire – 2-3 days/week in office
Contract: 5th Jan – 31st March 2026 (3 month contract)
Are you a technically strong, detail-driven finance professional ready to influence high-impact strategic projects? This role offers the opportunity to shape financial reporting across complex, material transactions while partnering with senior stakeholders and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and support the preparation of high-quality technical accounting papers for significant and one-off transactions under IFRS.
- Provide accurate, timely, and complete financial information to support strategic initiatives.
- Manage multiple project work streams, building strong and sustainable relationships across the organisation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely delivery of financial reporting outputs.
- Challenge external advisors to drive efficiency and value.
- Contribute to process improvements, reporting automation, and operational efficiencies to enhance customer experience and increase value-added activities.
- Ensure all reporting outputs meet internal and external quality standards and are audit-ready at low materiality thresholds.
- Qualified accountant with experience operating in large, complex finance functions.
- Deep technical expertise in IFRS, including IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic industries—telecommunications experience is advantageous.
- Background in group reporting for large listed organisations, with strong understanding of reporting structures, systems, and stakeholder management.
- Solid understanding of reporting automation and emerging developments in financial reporting.
- Exceptional interpersonal, networking, influencing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated track record of proactive contribution and successful project delivery.
- Financial Reporting & Statutory Requirements: Strong IFRS expertise (UK GAAP advantageous), able to independently produce and review statutory accounts and complex reporting.
- Financial Audit: Experienced in coordinating audits, identifying issues, and developing actionable solutions.
- Financial Accounting: Skilled in classifying, measuring, and recording financial transactions.
- Management Accounting: Able to support strategic decision-making with high-quality financial insight.
- Financial Modelling: Strong Excel capability; able to interpret, interrogate, and build financial models.
- Assessment & Analysis: Proficient in consolidating and analysing data from multiple sources to form clear recommendations.
- Project Planning & Organisation: Able to independently plan, prioritise, and oversee activities to meet business objectives.
- Customer Focus: Strong appreciation of internal and external stakeholders and their needs.
