Senior Manager - Strategic Finance
Contract role
Reading | Hybrid (2/3 days in office)
In this role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business and external advisors to deliver high-quality financial reporting and technical accounting outputs. You'll play a key role in shaping reporting for complex strategic initiatives-so strong communication, influencing, and project management skills are essential.
What You'll Be Doing
🔹 Preparing and supporting the creation of detailed technical accounting papers for complex and material transactions under IFRS
🔹 Delivering accurate, timely financial information to support strategic project reporting
🔹 Leading and coordinating multiple work streams across the CFO function and external advisors
🔹 Challenging external advisors to drive efficiency and high-quality outputs
🔹 Supporting automation, process improvement, and reporting enhancement initiatives
🔹 Ensuring all reporting meets audit requirements and stands up to scrutiny from internal and external stakeholders
What We're Looking For
✔ Qualified Accountant with experience in large or listed organisations
✔ Deep IFRS knowledge - especially IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 (UK GAAP a bonus)
✔ Experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments (Telco experience a plus)
✔ Strong understanding of reporting automation and process improvement
✔ Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
✔ Proven experience leading or contributing to complex project work and delivering credible results
✔ Excellent financial reporting, technical accounting, audit coordination, and financial modelling capabilities
