Head of Commercial Finance

£75,000 - £80,000 + Bonus

Reading - Hybrid

I'm supporting a growing organisation that's looking for a confident, commercially‑driven finance leader to take ownership of their commercial finance. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in the detail, and loves being the person the business turns to for clarity, challenge, and direction.

You’ll be the bridge between operations finance, shaping performance, improving decision‑making, and working directly with the senior leadership team to guide strategic choices.

You will play a central role in how the business understands performance and plans for the future. You’ll lead the commercial finance function, drive planning cycles, enhance reporting, and play a hands‑on role in shaping commercial outcomes.

• Own the budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring clear, robust financial planning.
• Deliver insightful analysis that explains performance, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with operational leaders to challenge and strengthen commercial decisions.
• Deliver month‑end reporting.
• Improve processes, reporting and controls to increase efficiency and visibility.
• Support commercial activity, building business cases and evaluating bids.
• Lead monthly revenue assurance activities and ensure accurate recognition.
• Work alongside the SLT on contract reviews and commercial negotiations.
• Implementation of a new finance system and oversight of annual audit activity.
• Manage and develop the Accounts Receivable function.

• A qualified accountant, ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
• Strong commercial mindset and confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
