Job Description & How to Apply Below

An exceptional opportunity for a junior Graduate Analyst to shape the future of Financial Services in Reading.

Financial Services firms live or die by the quality of their analysis. This established SME, based in Reading, has spent years building a reputation for careful, data-driven decision-making, and it now needs a Graduate Analyst to help keep that standard high as the business grows. You won't be a spare pair of hands. You'll be working alongside experienced professionals on real numbers that inform real decisions.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Building and maintaining spreadsheet models and reports that support day-to-day decision-making

Pulling data from internal systems and checking it for accuracy before it reaches senior colleagues

Supporting month-end reporting cycles and helping flag anomalies before they become problems

Assisting with client or regulatory reporting requirements specific to Financial Services

Presenting findings clearly to colleagues who don't have time for jargon

Learning the firm's core systems and processes well enough to start improving them within your first year

Here are the skills you'll need:

A degree in a numerate subject (finance, economics, maths, or similar)

Strong Excel skills. If you can build a pivot table without thinking twice, good

Curiosity about how Financial Services businesses actually operate, not just the theory

Clear written and verbal communication, since you'll be explaining numbers to non-analysts

A methodical approach and genuine attention to detail

Willingness to ask questions rather than guess. Nobody expects a graduate to know everything on day one

Key perks and benefits:

Salary of £27,500 to £32,000, plus bonus scheme

Private medical insurance

Pension contribution

Generous annual leave with flexible working built around office life

Full office arrangement in Reading, with structured onboarding and clear routes for progression

Why pursue a career in Financial Services?

Financial Services rewards people who get the detail right, and it rewards them consistently. Reading has become a genuine hub for the sector outside London, with lower costs and shorter commutes than the capital but no shortage of serious employers. Starting as a Graduate Analyst here gives you a foundation that opens doors across the industry for years to come.
