Occupational Therapist; Rotational
Job Summary
Band 5 Occupational Therapist (Rotational) – We are looking for motivated and passionate Occupational Therapists to join rotations at Royal Berkshire Hospital. The rotational post is suitable for new graduates (soon to be HCPC registered) as well as more experienced band 5s. It provides an excellent opportunity to broaden knowledge in specialties such as Stroke, Medicine, Elderly Care, Surgery & Orthopaedics, Neuro rehabilitation, and Acute Medical Unit.
MainDuties
- Deliver patient‑centred occupational therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT).
- Be professionally responsible for all aspects of own work, including therapeutic management of patients in your care.
- Provide support and advice to the multidisciplinary team and manage own caseload as an autonomous practitioner.
- Deliver a high‑quality, effective and efficient therapy service.
- Contribute to service development as a member of the Therapy Department team.
- Deputise for the Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist as required.
Support package includes use of a band 5 passport covering key skills and learning opportunities, workshops, training sessions, and an OT specific practice educator on site. A strong band 5 support group, buddy system and regular in‑service sessions are also provided.

Essential Qualifications- Degree (or recognised qualification) in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registered.
- IT skills, including email.
- BSc OT.
- Member of BAOT.
- Training & presentation skills.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Experience of 3 or more different areas of Occupational Therapy practice (including practice placements).
- Experience working in an acute general hospital.
- Experience working in NHS healthcare setting.
