Role Overview

The Senior Customer Development Manager reports to the Business Unit Head and is responsible for leading the Self‑Care and Oral Care categories for a top 2 Grocer. They act as a role model for other Customer Development team members and their direct reports. They deliver against trading strategies and plans which achieve Kenvue’s and customer objectives. They focus on delivering annual objectives within the Kenvue year and customer JBP, fostering strong collaborative customer relationships, aligning to customer strategy and executing the company plan with excellence.

In addition, the SCDM engages to proactively search for commercial innovation and revenue growth management options within their remit and delivers them with the support of their BUH.

Key Responsibilities

The Customer Development Team is responsible for partnering with our retail, pharmacy and wholesale customers to deliver Kenvue’s strategies and initiatives to profitably grow.

Customer Centricity
  • Maintain an external perspective to anticipate future marketplace changes and develop solutions to drive positive results for Kenvue.
  • Deliver high quality customer contact driving positive engagement at buyer level, and across functions within the customer leading to improving AGS results.
  • Manage and deliver annual business plan, including JBP agreements where applicable.
Commercial Fundamentals
  • Deliver NTS, TI and GP objectives while achieving brand share gains in line with the business plan.
  • Engage with and deliver revenue growth management (RGM) efforts within the business remit.
  • Optimise Trade Investment, maintaining targeted TI levels, driving high‑quality TI evaluation and increasing the percentage of events which deliver positive ROI. Ensure TI ledger, accruals and invoicing are managed in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Ensure that a robust, reliable forecast is generated for their business, with delivery within the month, at M‑3 and for the full year.
Innovation & Execution
  • Deliver Kenvue key initiatives with excellence.
  • Identify commercial innovation and deliver these projects within the business plan to build joint value for Kenvue and the customer.
  • Build strong internal partnerships to enable delivery of key customer projects.
  • Support customer projects beyond role responsibilities to deliver the Customer Team Strategic Pillars.
People Management
  • Aware of and adheres to Kenvue’s people processes.
  • Offers continuous coaching to the team including providing actionable, timely feedback to drive improved performance and manage talent.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork, innovation and sharing of ideas.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Strong levels of intellectual capacity and curiosity.
  • Progressive experience in blue‑chip FMCG environments.
  • A track record of delivering profitable growth within customers.
  • Experience of working with major UK retailers.
  • Experience of managing and negotiating joint business plans.
  • Leadership experience, with understanding of how to inspire and develop a team.
  • Strong levels of entrepreneurial spirit; someone who proactively identifies issues and opportunities and leads the response of their team/the broader business to them.
  • Broad commercial understanding – ideally complementing extensive front‑line sales experience with working knowledge of CS&P and/or Category.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Key stakeholders – Commercial Director, Business Unit Head, Customer Strategy & Planning, Marketing Directors, Managing Director, Customer Development team, finance and supply chain.
