The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, the organisation has supported passage of numerous bills that have benefitted close to 500 million people in developing countries.
This part‑time, unpaid remote programme runs for 12 weeks (12 hours per week). Your availability is flexible and you may finish in fewer weeks if needed.
Responsibilities- Advocacy Leadership Development:
Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilise individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation. - Fundraising Development:
Learn how to fundraise, create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets. - Recruitment:
Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings, introduction to recruitment platforms and listen in to interviews. - Marketing and Promotion:
Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media and utilise social media and develop strategies for web‑based messaging.
No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
Details- This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available.
