The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for delivering independent inspection and quality control services for a prestigious UK Defence project located near Reading.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for delivering independent inspection and quality control services for a prestigious UK Defence project located near Reading. Operating within a highly secure environment, the inspector will review fabrication and manufacturing documentation, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and support the quality requirements of nuclear-related equipment and pressure systems. The role requires a British-born UK passport holder due to security clearance requirements.
MainDuties and Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Delivering independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendor locations for new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
- Inspecting equipment ranging from Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment to items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
- Reviewing fabrication/manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels, including:
- Quality plans
- ITPs
- Fabrication/manufacturing procedures
- Welding procedures
- NDE procedures
- Compilation and review of LTQRs
- Strong working knowledge of UK inspection requirements within the nuclear industry or relevant transferable experience from other high-hazard industries.
- Experience and understanding of nuclear and conventional codes and standards related to pressure equipment and pressure systems, including:
- EN13445
- EN13480
- PD5500
- ASME VIII
- Associated material, welding, and NDE standards
- Ability to demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to both technical and non-technical tasks.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Weld Inspector with the following:
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2
- PCN Level II Magnetic Particle Inspection or PCN Level II Dye Penetrant Testing
- PCN Level II Radiographic Interpretation
