Account Manager / Water Business Development Manager
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Account Manager / Water Business Development Manager to support the growth of our water testing and inspection services. This role plays a key part in our expansion strategy, helping us deliver compliance, risk management, remedial works, and consultancy services to an expanding client portfolio. You’ll work towards clear targets with a competitive salary and commission structure.

This is a hybrid role, ideally suited to candidates based in the Reading / Thames Valley region.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and engage prospective clients through inbound and outbound sales, converting leads into long-term relationships
- Collaborate with our marketing team on targeted lead-generation campaigns
- Follow up on inbound leads from PPC and online marketing activity
- Maintain accurate sales records within Salesforce to support forecasting and strategic planning
- Work with internal teams to prepare accurate pricing, proposals, and service information
- Negotiate contracts and successfully close deals that deliver value for both clients and the business
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, with excellent opportunities for career progression
We’re looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, a strong commercial mindset, and solid knowledge of the water sector.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise- Ideally a member of WMSOC
- Proactive, resilient, and driven, with the ability to excel in a fast‑paced sales environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident engaging customers via phone, email, and face‑to‑face
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to nurture long‑term partnerships
- Experience in transactional sales, including cold calling and generating leads through market tools
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, capable of identifying opportunities and closing deals
- Highly self‑motivated, able to work independently and within a collaborative team
- Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office
- Passionate about business development, sales, and the environmental / water sector, with a desire for continuous learning
