Job Overview
This role is part of the Adopt Thames Valley (ATV) Regional Adoption Agency, a shared service for seven local authorities. The position functions under Oxfordshire County Council and focuses on providing post-order support to adopters, special guardians, their children, adults affected by adoption, and birth families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Team Managers with the operational management of the Permanence Support Team, ensuring high service standards.
- Deliver and develop services in line with ATV policies, procedures and guidance.
- Plan and deliver services that maximise participation and reflect Children’s Rights.
- Provide case supervision to social workers.
- Support and advise on post‑adoption contact arrangements.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised appropriately.
- Qualified Social Worker with at least three years of post‑qualifying experience in adoption or relevant child‑services settings.
- Experience of team management, supervision or mentoring of social workers.
- Strong assessment, analytical and report‑writing skills.
- Computer literate and evidence of good understanding of adoptive family needs.
