As a Software Engineering Apprentice you will support the team to deliver real‑world software solutions within budget and on schedule. You will gain experience across the development lifecycle and collaborate with experienced engineers in an agile environment.
Key Skills and Experience- Programming in industry standard languages (Python, C++, C, Go)
- Experience in multi‑disciplinary agile teams
- Familiarity with business management and formal documentation tools
- Knowledge of secure software development practices
- Interest in technical domains such as software‑defined radio and electronic counter‑measure systems
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Exposure to emerging digital technologies (AI, data analytics)
You will enrol in the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship with Warwick University, following the Software Engineering pathway. The programme combines university studies with practical application in our software function in Reading for four years, delivering a BSc and Level 6 qualification.
Requirements- 112 UCAS tariff points at A Level (BBC grades, maths C+ and STEM subject)
- 5 GCSEs (grade 9‑4, including English and Maths)
All successful candidates must possess a permanent right to work in the UK and will be required to obtain and maintain SC clearance prior to starting employment.
Application ProcessAssessment centres for shortlisted candidates will be held between February and May 2026. Induction week for all graduates and apprentices will take place from Monday 7 September to Friday 11 September 2026.
