Westfine Meats Inc. is currently seeking an QA Technician at our meat processing plant. This position works Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm/ 7:00am - 3:30pm.

- Assist in the implementation of Food Safety Enhancement Program as per CFIA and SFCR requirements
- Assist with Maintenance and implementation of HACCP Plans; monitoring CCP's
- Conducts pre-op inspections and verify the effectiveness of the cleaning program
- Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of pre-requisite programs such as Premises, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping, Personnel, Sanitation, Pest Control and Allergen Control program
- Verification of pre-requisite monitoring records and CCP records
- Coordinate with CFIA for CVS tasks and appropriate and prompt response for verification and corrective action request Coordinate and prepare product samples for lab testing
- Assist in planning shelf-life studies on product
- Participate in HACCP meetings
- Coordinate with the HR Department on HR matters related to QA Department
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self motivator
- Attention to detail
- Punctual and reliable
- Quality Assurance/Control experience of minimum 1 year
- Food Manufacturing experience minimum 1 year
- Food Safety certification through AFP
