Maintenance Assistant

Westfine Meats Inc. is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant at our meat processing plant. This position works Monday – Friday & weekends as needed with various shift timings as required.

• Assist maintenance technicians and millwrights
• Perform tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment; replacing belts, hoses, filters; tightening bolts, guards, covers; parts handling and tool preparation
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Assist with conveyors, packaging machines, grinders, slicers, mixers
• Execute general repair and maintenance work
• Recognize unsafe or abnormal equipment conditions and report them
• Work in a team environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Post‑secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience in a related role is preferred
• Food manufacturing experience minimum 1 year
• Basic skills of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
