** Job Description
** Candidates are invited to apply for the position detailed below Extendicare Michener Hill, a continuing care facility located in Red Deer Alberta. This facility is home to 220 Continuing Care beds and 60 Designated Assisted Living Beds.
** Reporting to:
Director of Care
**** RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Reporting to the Director of Care, the LPN will:
* Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies
* Use the Nursing Process of Assessment, Plan, Implement and Evaluate a resident health and develop individualized resident care plans
* Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of the Health Care Aide
* Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff
* Demonstrates leadership skills
* Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Program
* Registered in good standing with CLPNA
* Caring, compassionate, dependable, ethical and mature
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to manage stressful situations.
* Critical thinking skills
* Good time management skills to work in fast paced environment.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Current CPR and First Aide
* Experience with MDS-RAI assessments
