Overview

A growing logistics and transport operation based in Redditch is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Planning Assistant. This role is crucial in ensuring vehicle routes are planned efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with agreed service levels.

You will work closely with the Planning Manager, driving team, and various internal departments to keep daily operations running smoothly while resolving any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

Plan daily delivery and collection routes to meet agreed service levels.

Ensure route plans are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with WTD and driver hours legislation.

Maintain and update the Transport Management System (TMS).

Liaise with drivers to resolve any issues that occur while on the road.

Work with internal departments and stakeholders to support smooth operations.

Assist the Planning Manager with daily planning tasks and operational coordination.

Requirements

Experience using a Transport Management System (TMS).

Experience with route planning software.

Strong knowledge of driver hours and the Working Time Directive.

Ability to optimise vehicle usage effectively.

Customer-focused with strong communication skills.

Minimum 1 year of customer service experience (required).

Minimum 1 year of transport planning experience (required).
