Air Freight Operator

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Air Freight professional to join their operations team based in Redhill.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with  air export experience , although applications from those with an import background or a combination of both import and export experience will also be welcomed.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will take responsibility for coordinating shipments, managing customer requirements and ensuring the smooth movement of freight from start to finish.

Location:

Redhill
Salary:  £30,000 – £40,000 DOE

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
What You'll Be Doing   Managing air freight shipments through the full operational process, ensuring all jobs are handled efficiently and accurately.
Coordinating export and/or import bookings, depending on your experience.
Liaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliers to keep shipments on track.
Preparing and processing relevant shipping documentation, ensuring all information is correct and compliant.
Monitoring shipment progress and proactively dealing with any delays or operational challenges.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers through regular communication and updates.
Obtaining freight rates, assisting with quotations and arranging bookings.
Reviewing shipment costs and supplier invoices, investigating any discrepancies.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all shipment files are kept up to date.
Working closely with colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and customers receive a high level of service.
What We're Looking For   Previous experience working within the air freight industry is essential.
Ideally, you will have a strong background in  air exports .
Candidates with air import experience will also be considered.
Experience covering both imports and exports (50/50) would be a definite advantage.
A good understanding of air freight procedures, documentation and operational requirements.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Someone who can manage their workload, work to deadlines and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine team-focused approach.
