Guaranteed weekly OR access and a generous amount of procedural time in the ambulatory care and endoscopy units will be available to the successful candidate upon arrival. The program is complimented with a high-quality Anesthesiology program and a day surgery unit which has extended hours for patient recovery. The arriving specialist would share in a minimum of a 1 in 5 call rotation.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate experience and training in Urology, appropriate for an academic, tertiary care level, referral centre. The candidate will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills with initiatives to further advance the clinical and academic productivity of the SHA. Commitment and demonstrated interest in research and surgical education at all levels are expected.
Call coverage is a requirement for the position. In addition to fee-for-service, you would be eligible for any on-call retainer consistent with the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient and family-centred care.
Candidates must be eligible for provisional or regular licensure through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
