Job Description
TPF Recruitment are proud to be partnering exclusively with a growing construction company entering an exciting new phase of expansion. Following a major partnership with a Care Home group, our client will be managing multiple new builds, each with a projected value of £10 million. With several high-value projects in the pipeline, the business is investing in its finance function and building a dedicated team to support this next stage of growth.

As Senior Bookkeeper, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Director, you will take ownership of day‑to‑day accounting processes and contribute to the business's financial stability and success. You'll work closely with the leadership team and have the opportunity to grow and develop alongside the company as it expands its operations and team.
Key Responsibilities- Record all financial transactions including purchase/sales invoices, receipts, and payments
- Manage purchase orders and prepare payment runs
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure regular reconciliation of control accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports including Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet
- Process payroll, including calculations, submissions, and payments
- Prepare and submit VAT and CIS Returns
- Support financial reporting and assist with process improvements as the company grows
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles
- Experience using Xero and Sage Construct software
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small, growing team
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- A proactive approach and a genuine desire to progress and expand your skillset
- £30,000 - £40,000 subject to experience.
