Overview

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Perform general welding and fabrication trade activities.
  • Safely use all existing machinery in the manufacturing bays.
  • Recognize and adhere to company health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Apply knowledge of QA processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to Asset Management operational bays.
  • Maintain workplace housekeeping in line with company expectations.
  • Operate flame cutting equipment safely.
  • Support welding operations in support of Asset Management contractual activities.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained, calibrated and fit-for-purpose.
  • Assist senior staff as a member of project team(s) to meet time, cost and timescale targets.
  • Adhere to company procedures and systems (including quality, safety, environment, administration, security) and contribute to their improvement.
  • Maintain equipment, work space and machinery to a high standard and fit for purpose or third‑party inspection.
  • Stop any work being carried out within bay/lab environments deemed not in‑line with expected standards.
  • Operate manufacturing bay machinery:
    Band Saw, Pedestal Drill and Guillotine.
  • Work to project timescales.
  • Deliver and maintain a high‑quality standard.
  • Fill out Work Order Cards as necessary.
  • Perform site work as requested.
Key Requirements
  • Apprenticeship with recognised qualification such as SVQ, ONC or City and Guilds in Welding and Fabrication or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship with an NC Diploma in Welding and Fabrication or equivalent.
  • Time served as a Welder.
  • Demonstrable experience in Sub Arc and Automated Welding Processes.
  • Greater than five years’ experience in a variety of welding processes including TIG, MMA and Flux Core.
  • Basic knowledge of codes, legislation, company standards and quality procedures.
  • Basic creative and innovative skills.
  • Basic effective writing.
  • Basic effective communication.
  • Good team working skills.
